Did you know Fibromyalgia is a neurological condition that causes centralized pain?
For years Fibromyalgia was thought a Rheumatological or Psychiatric condition, but since the mid-2000s, medical research has proved it is a Neurological disorder with widespread complications.
Having described this, the causes of, and treatments for, Fibromyalgia extend well beyond the nervous system. As such, the most effective treatment requires both western and functional medical management of multiple organ systems. At our treatment center we incorporate multiple medical modalities into an organized approach that helps you overcome, not just live with, Fibromyalgia.

Meet Dr. Wallace
Dr. Wallace has a passion for helping Fibromyalgia patients.
Mathew Wallace, MD is a specialty and sub-specialty board certified and fellowship trained Interventional Spinal Neurologist who completed Medical School at Drexel University (Philidelphia). He completed post-graduate training at Wake Forest & University of Pittsburgh.
Twenty years ago Dr Wallace's observations as a Spinal Interventional Neurologist during and after spinal interventions convinced him that Fibromyalgia was a life-altering neurological (inflammatory) disease.
After realizing that these patients had a distressing and untreatable disease for which many were being dismissed as "crazy" Dr Wallace became passionate about helping Fibromyalgia patients.
Dr. Wallace spent several years identifying underlying pain generators and mediators using specialized nerve blocks. In many cases, he was able to turn off the spectrum of symptoms for weeks or months.
These treatments availed Dr. Wallace the unique opportunity to see the dramatic changes when the mask of Fibromyalgia was removed. However, whether weeks or months later the symptoms almost always returned.
More recently, after turning 50, Dr Wallace developed generalized aches and worsening fatigue. This led to dietary changes that resolved his symptoms and precipitated a pursuit of non-allopathic information to fill the gaps in allopathic medicine's understanding and treatment of Fibromyalgia and centralized pain.
These professional and personal experiences were the impetus for the Neurological Center for Fibromyalgia and its unique mission to combine the best treatments from alternative, medical, and interventional medicine.
